Day
1.
Fly to México, the cultural fiesta begins
as you arrive in Mexico, meet your Tour Director at the airport
and transfer to your Hotel. Today's walking tour takes you down
the Paseo de la Reforma and past the Iglesia de San Felipe de Jesus.
Overnight in Mexico City.
Day 2.
City tour of Mexico City; today we will visit the
Zocalo, Mexico's City main square and former heart of the Aztec
empire. After Cortes and his Conquistadors levelled the area, they
adorned the square with a royal palace and the Cathedral. Enter
the patio of the Palacio Nacional to see Diego Rivera's renowned
murals, which chart Mexico's history. Cross the square to the cathedral
and Temple Mayor and visit the acclaimed National Museum of Anthropology.
Return to the Hotel and rest of the day free.
Day
3.
Today's journey takes us to the Sun & Moon Pyramids of Teotihuacan;
but our first stop will be at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Built where a peasant named Diego had a vision of the Virgin in
1531. Continue on to the mysteriously abandoned pyramids of Teotihuacan.
Get across the avenue of dead and climb the Pyramid of the Sun and
Moon before returning to Mexico City. Optional lunch in a impressive
cave restaurant. At night you may attend to the National Folkloric
Ballet.
Day 4.
Early in the morning, depart Mexico City to Taxco;
a town once explored by Cortes. The first silver to reach Spain
was exported from Taxco. Your guided tour includes a visit to the
town's beautiful baroque pinkstoned Church of Santa Prisca. Check
into your Hotel in Taxco and overnight at this colonial city.
Day
5.
Drive through the heart of the Sierra Madre del Sur to Acapulco.
Check into your hotel and check out Fort San Diego, built in 1616
as protection against Sir Francis Drake's pirates. You'll also pass
the famous cliffs of La Quebrada - Keep your eyes out for the daredevil
cliff divers.
Day 6.
Free Day to enjoy yourself at this tropical paradise; Acapulco is
one of Mexico's most popular resort destinations, its night life
is fantastic and the mountains overlooking the bay of Acapulco are
just breathtaking... Enjoy !
Day 7.
Nothing better than relaxing on the beach. Take a cruise around
the bay, dine out, dance and have fun in one of many fun clubs in
Acapulco...
Day 8.
At schedule time, transfer to the airport for your homebound flight...
